Saddlebrook Beef is a small, family run company. We partner with only the best local farmers to support them in reaching customers outside rural areas.
Leadership
Jim Ramsay is a Navy Veteran who has worked most of his life outside the beef industry. He has an electrical engineering degree and continues to work his regular job while starting Saddlebrook Beef Company. His motivation to start the company comes from his friendship with local farmers, love of high quality food, and his son's interest in learning how to start and operate a business to be an entrepreneur someday.
Kate Ramsay is the best co-owner, support, manager, and mom in the world! Kate has raised 3 of the best kids in the world, and she also helps out with the day-to-day operations of the company. She keeps everyone together, makes sure we have everything we need and that we show up where we need to be, when we need to be there. She is the backbone of the company and the one who keeps us moving in the right direction.
Meet the team
Aiden Ramsay is a very smart and (so far) successful young man. He is a loving big brother to 2 siblings. He loves to play hockey and his goal is to attend the University of Notre Dame. His ambition to someday become an entrepreneur is one of the main reasons this company was founded. He helps out with just about everything from ideas to strategies, and even helps out on the farm with the "behind the scenes" tasks from time to time. He will eventually help out with sales, organizing, and recordkeeping.
Neal Cattle and Farms is our first and only partnership to date. Owner, Derek Neal, is also a Captain at the Peoria Fire Department. He has lived and/or worked on farms his whole life. He recently started his own cattle business out of his love for farming. He stays most busy in the Spring and Fall tending to the almost 1,000 acres of farmland that they farm together with family. He has only the best intentions for raising cattle and refuses to risk quality of his product to make financial gains. He is steadfast in his mission to only put the Neal Cattle and Farm name on the best beef.
In addition to his firefighting responsibilities and his newly founded company, Derek also volunteers his time as a youth baseball, wrestling, and football coach in the Peoria area. He is extremely dedicated to his family and community, which is exactly the type of people we like to support and partner with!
1-on-1 Graphics deserves a special shout out too. We partnered with Brian and his team at 1-on-1 Graphics to design our logo, apparel, and merchandise.
We love supporting other start-up small businesses and Brian is doing an awesome job!
